A housing community by MonteVista Homes

Quality Housing in Hermiston, OR
Upland Meadows is a housing community being built by MonteVista Homes in Hermiston, Oregon. They’d had a community brand made several years prior, but had unfortunately lost the majority of their working files. They wanted to keep the same brand, but needed to change the logo as well, since it unfortunately had a somewhat phallic look to it.
I love the challenge of a brand rebuild. Not only do I have to recreate the graphics as closely to the original as possible, but I also have to hunt down fonts and find similar images as well. Once I’d gotten the main assets recreated, we started the logo portion of the project.
The new logo needed to match the aesthetics of the established brand. Approachable, minimal, and will hill or meadow references. I made several concept options, one of which was a version very similar to the original, just with tweaks made to take away the phallic connotation. We ended up going with a completely new logo that’s a minimalist representation of hills in a loose form of a U, for Upland. Once we had the new logo nailed down, I fully recreated their brand guide and delivered a fully rebuilt logo suite that will be ready to use when the housing community begins construction.
